'Anodine' is the second single to be released by Nadir. The track was born form several harmonic sequences envisioned by MJ Anderson. The rest of the track was written by the aid of Ruari Ferguson, with Mike Marshall eventually adding his bass part.

The trash sees the band take a step back from the relentless technical thrash element of their music, and focus on the more melodic and harmonious elements of the aesthetic, resulting in a somber instrumental.

'Anodine' showcases Mike Marshall's technical ability as a bass player predominantly more than other tracks, as his passages ion this piece are almost reminiscent of a lead instrument.
